Fervent Fire Ministries - The beginning
In a world that has been flipped upside down with a global pandemic, civil unrest around the country, and churches' and Christians' very religious freedoms being challenged, God has called on His church to rise up for such a time as this. It is January 2021. The location is Elgin, ND, in the Fercho's living room. Troy and Jennifer are watching a program on old time tent revivals, showing clips from meetings by A.A. Allen, Aimee Semple McPherson, Jack Coe and Oral Roberts. While watching the program, the Holy Spirit spoke to Troy about buying a tent and doing revival meetings. His first reaction was to laugh, but then he knew in his spirit it was real. Troy turned to Jennifer and said, "We are supposed to buy a tent and start doing tent meetings." Jennifer, like her husband, laughed and said, "Okay?" But Troy said, "No really, we are supposed to buy a tent and start doing tent revivals." Jennifer said, "Okay." Thus started the journey of Fervent Fire Ministries.
Within 3 months, God - doing His miracle thing - connected Troy and Jennifer with friends and family who immediately felt the Lord's hand on the ministry vision. Before they were even started, the funds for the tent purchase was donated, and they were off to the races. Support continued flowing in and the vision continued to grow with kids ministries and the addition of a discipleship program.
Troy's Story
Troy Fercho grew up in Glendive, MT with two loving Christian parents and chose to follow Jesus at an early age. His senior year of high school he decided to attend Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, Ok.
After graduating he moved to Denver, CO and was a youth pastor for a season. Troy allowed some offenses to take root and he turned to a life of sin for over a decade, until God strategically placed a metaphoric brick wall in front of him. This was the wake he needed to turn him back to God and the calling he always knew was there. Shortly after this, Troy surrendered his life fully over to God and submitted to a spiritual mentor. This event forever changed Troy's life! Through a commitment of church attendance and true discipleship, the Word of God began to come alive and the love of Jesus enveloped his entire life.
After Troy made the decision to give his life fully to Jesus, he met the second love of his life, Jennifer, in 2017. An internet dating site success story, Troy and Jennifer both knew very quickly this was the real thing and were married the next year. In 2019 they welcomed their little miracle, Michael Allen, to their family. Stay tuned for more to come...
Jennifer's Story
Jennifer Manuel Fercho was raised in Oklahoma, moving around a lot. She comes from a rich heritage of ministers on both sides of her family. She started volunteering in kids ministry at the age of 11, and that passion continued to grow. She attended Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, TX, receiving her degree in Elementary Education in 2008.
For the next three years, she volunteered in kids ministry in her local church. In July 2011, Jennifer accepted a Children's Pastorate position at Grand Assembly of God in Chickasha, OK. She spent six years pouring into the lives of children and families of the community, sharing God's love and teaching the Word.
In January 2017, Jennifer met Troy and soon knew he would be her husband and partner in ministry. She never thought she would live so far from her family in the south, but God had other plans. After the wedding in 2018 she said goodbye to the south and moved the chilly tundra of North Dakota. After settling in to her new home, she spent a season substitute teaching and volunteering at church until the birth of their son. She now enjoys being a home maker and leading the kids ministry at church.
